“Helen of Troy and Her Beauty:
A First Person Perspective”
By: Julie T.

Hello my friends. I am Helen of Troy. As you read on you will learn all about me and some inventions from ancient Greece. Now, please take a seat and travel back to ancient Greece with me. What do you see? I am hoping that you are seeing a very full place that has green grass and lots of buildings that are white, silver and various colors. Now, you are walking along the dirt road and it is red. The people here are very nice; well some of them are not that nice. It was a beautiful place before the war. It is still a very pretty place. Now let’s talk about me.

My father was Zeus, the god of lightening. He named me Helen (Helen of Troy as most know me by). When I was 12, I got kidnapped and attacked by Theseus, the hero of Greece. He left me with his mother afterwards so he could wait for me to get older. He wanted to marry me but my brother rescued me and when we got home we found out I was with child. My father was very upset and wanted to kill Theseus. He was furious. Theseus did not know this news. I was so thankful my brother rescued me or else that monster would have killed me. I am the youngest of four children, two boys and two girls. It has been one month since and my feet are hurting. Theseus ruined my life forever. It took a lot of pain and healing to be able to get my life together again.

It has been 7 months since the incident and 2 more months until I have the baby, so wish me luck. I am so fortunate for this. I have just turned 16. Only two more years until I can get married to my true love, Paris, King of Troy. He is truly amazing. He helped my brother save me from that treacherous man.

When I finally turned 18, Paris and I can get married. We lived in Rome and it has the Colisseum, and beautiful land. My life was really different. People started acting differently towards me. They started bringing me food and other things.

I had a pretty cool life!
